Byndr Now Powered by Scrydex: Better Card Data for Collectors

A New Data Foundation#

Byndr has migrated its card data pipeline from a combination of free community APIs to Scrydex, a dedicated TCG data provider. This post covers exactly what changed, what you can expect right now, and what is still being worked on.

What Changed#

Previously, Byndr sourced card data from TCGdex (Pokémon) and OPTCG (One Piece) — both free, community-maintained APIs. These worked well for basic set and card metadata, but had limitations around pricing data, image consistency, and coverage.

Scrydex is a commercial API that provides structured card data, variant information, and market pricing for multiple TCGs. It serves as the new primary data source for card syncs on Byndr.

The free community sources (TCGdex, OPTCG) remain available as a fallback layer under the hood.

What Is Available Now#

Pokémon

Pokémon is fully synced via Scrydex. The current database includes:

• English cards: full set coverage with images, variant data, and market prices
• Japanese cards: full set coverage with images and variant data

Prices are fetched as part of the card sync — no separate step required.

One Piece

One Piece is synced via Scrydex as well. English card data, images, and market prices are available. Graded pricing for One Piece is listed as coming soon on Scrydex's end.

Magic: The Gathering

MTG (25.03.2026) has recently been added to our portfolio and over 100k cards are available to you to explore and use for your collection and researches.

What Scrydex Provides#

For each supported TCG, the Scrydex integration delivers:

• Card metadata (name, number, rarity, types, subtypes, abilities, attacks)
• Card images in multiple resolutions (small, medium, large)
• Variant data (e.g. holofoil, reverse holo, first edition)
• Market prices per variant and condition (NM, LP, MP, HP, DMG)
• 1-day and 7-day price trend data
• Expansion metadata (series, release date, set totals)

Pricing is available in USD and JPY. EUR support is listed as in progress by Scrydex.

Current Limitations#

• MTG: not yet integrated on Byndr's side
• Graded prices for One Piece: coming soon from Scrydex
• EUR pricing: not yet available from Scrydex
• Free Reload data: older entries from the community API layer remain in the database alongside Scrydex data; these will be cleaned up in a future maintenance step

What This Means for You#

If you track Pokémon or One Piece cards on Byndr, your collection now has access to richer card data and live market prices sourced from Scrydex. Price trends show how a card's value has moved over the last day and week, giving you a clearer picture of your collection's current market position.

No action is required on your end. The data is updated automatically in the background.
